Jonny

Jonathan Fraser Regnery is a founding partner in Kingdom Outdoor Living, owner of JF Designs and the cofounder of The True Au Jus Board. He moved to Los Angeles from the Midwest after graduating from Indiana University in 1989 with a BA in theater and telecommunications.

For over 25 years Jonathan worked as an actor on several films and television shows such as “Frasier”, “NCIS”, “Justified” and “Swordfish” to name a few, (aka Jonathan Fraser on IMDB). In between “gigs” he discovered that the construction industry was financially stable and kept his creative side engaged. Growing up on a farm in upstate New York and spending a lot of time in his grandfather’s shop, carpentry was second nature.

Not long after the Northridge earthquake Jonathan partnered with Charles Nicolai of Nicolai Construction in 1992. Nicolai had a patent pending on an earthquake system he had designed and needed Jonathan to help run his small construction company. After completing a few jobs and getting a taste of the business end of the construction industry, they parted ways in 1994.

Almost immediately, an opportunity to work for Marc Marsceill of Marsceill Design Construction presented itself and Marc was fine with the auditions and the occasional need to leave to work in the film business. Working for Marc though was exciting, mostly residential remodels, new construction and an occasional commercial job. The projects ranged from Greene & Greene style Craftsman’s to Richard Neutra’s modernist designs. Building and installing Asian inspired decks and custom bamboo handrails to classic custom cabinetry and some pretty slick retail spaces, Jonathan decided to go out on his own.

With Marc’s blessing Jonathan started his own custom cabinet shop; JF Designs, in 2004.
Jonathan designed and built his 2nd home beginning in 2005 with his wife Kimberly.
He got his C6 cabinets & millwork license from the State of California in 2010. As a one man show, he was designing, building and installing kitchens, furniture and various other cabinetry.

In 2017, a friendship with Matt Scott turned into a business venture. An idea became reality. Jonathan’s love of cooking, BBQ and woodworking led to the design of the True Au Jus Board, a Teak cutting board like no other. The full potential of this product hasn’t been realized as a manufacturing deal is currently being negotiated. With a patent pending, a couple hundred boards sold and a marketing plan in the works, the True Board is on its way.

Matt and Jonathan decided this wasn’t enough so, they decided to start an “outdoor living” design build partnership called Kingdom Outdoor Living. Early in 2020,  Jonathan went back and upgraded his license to a B…General Contractor! As luck would have it…the decision to move in this direction was very timely…The phone hasn’t stopped ringing!!
